Celebrizombies by Ben Brown

Half celebrity! Half zombie! Half undead! Half kind of alive but not really! Ben Brown’s pop art reveals the grisly horror that always lurked beneath the iconic celerbrity exteriors.

JAMES JEAN

(By the way, how cool of a name is James Jean! A letter’s difference from ‘James Dean’ AND the alliteration!)

“Some religions call life a dream, or a dreaming, but what if it is a memory? What if this new world isn’t new at all but a memory of a new world? What if we really do keep making the same mistakes again and again, never remembering the lessons to learn but never forgetting either that it had been different, that there was a pristine place? Perhaps the universe is a memory of our mistakes.”

“There’s this perception and romanticism around drugs, that it’s sexy or that it’s artistic or that you’re troubled and you’re going to make great music…when really, you’re just a fucking loser, wasting time.”

It’s one of those Celine Dion nights.

I love this song. Does anyone else feel like it’s a reborn version of Bonnie Tyler’s ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’?

Drugs and alcohol can look almost beautiful on the outside

Leader of the Un-promised Land

Recently, a lot of people have been coming up to me because they are not sure about the degree they are studying for and if it’s worth it. And I honestly don’t know what to say to them.
Deciding to go into an artistic career was a big step for me - personally - because my family never saw it as a safe option and knew how much competition I’d have to face afterwards. But I did it because I know I will never quit and I’ll always be passionate about it. It doesn’t matter about how much money I earn just as long as I can get enough to support myself and stay alive I’ll be fine.

However, when someone studying for a Business degree comes up to me and says ‘I feel like quitting and following my dream’, every inch of me wants to say ‘YES! Totally, go chase that dream’ but I don’t because that’s a very ‘Disney’ and enchanted way of looking at things.

Only follow your dream if you are willing to be broken down socially, physically (and sometimes even, spiritually) for it. If you honestly believe you will work your ass off for it.

And if you are not then keep on with all the ‘safe’ options.
