JAMES JEAN
(By the way, how cool of a name is James Jean! A letter’s difference from ‘James Dean’ AND the alliteration!)

It’s one of those Celine Dion nights.
I love this song. Does anyone else feel like it’s a reborn version of Bonnie Tyler’s ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’?

But sometimes we never realise the monsters we turn into inside…
Recently, a lot of people have been coming up to me because they are not sure about the degree they are studying for and if it’s worth it. And I honestly don’t know what to say to them.
Deciding to go into an artistic career was a big step for me - personally - because my family never saw it as a safe option and knew how much competition I’d have to face afterwards. But I did it because I know I will never quit and I’ll always be passionate about it. It doesn’t matter about how much money I earn just as long as I can get enough to support myself and stay alive I’ll be fine.
However, when someone studying for a Business degree comes up to me and says ‘I feel like quitting and following my dream’, every inch of me wants to say ‘YES! Totally, go chase that dream’ but I don’t because that’s a very ‘Disney’ and enchanted way of looking at things.
Only follow your dream if you are willing to be broken down socially, physically (and sometimes even, spiritually) for it. If you honestly believe you will work your ass off for it.
And if you are not then keep on with all the ‘safe’ options.
